Every time you walk out of a grocery store, the receipt seems to be a little bit longer, and the total at the bottom is a lot harder to swallow. The days of casual shopping feel like a distant memory. Now, you have to be strategic just to keep your budget intact.
But here is the frustrating part—saving money shouldn’t require a part-time job. You shouldn’t have to spend hours scrolling through apps, hunting for deals, or clipping digital coupons one by one just to avoid getting ripped off at the checkout line.
I wanted a tool that simply did the hard work for me. One click. All offers clipped. Done. I started building this out of my own sheer frustration, pouring late nights and weekends into making it work. And because I believe everyone deserves a break right now, I made it completely free and fiercely privacy-oriented.
Why this, why now
We created the Lasso browser extension almost three years ago because we were tired of the tedious process of manually clicking “clip” on dozens of digital coupons and credit card offers just to save a few bucks at checkout. (In fact, Lasso originally started as a labor of love to help make grocery shopping easier for Mom!)
Today, Lasso auto-clips coupons for over 90 major grocery store chains (including the Albertsons and Kroger families, Publix, and Target), plus pharmacies and major credit card rewards and has over 1,000 daily active users.
We’re launching this Substack right now because as our tool and user base grows, we need a central place to keep our users updated on new stores, new features, and the best ways to maximize their rewards. And we want to build that community with you.
